Meet the Doctors

Dr. Menaker
Dr. Menaker is close to being a native of Charlotte having lived here since 1969. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High, N.C.State University, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1985. He has practiced general dentistry in Charlotte since graduation. All 3 of his sons, Nate, Max, and Ari, graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill. They are very avid sports fans with special interests in soccer, golf, basketball, and running. Whatever you do, do not root against our Tarheels. His wife, Pam, has spent over 25 years working in and managing the practice, and now helps other dental practices through their dental consulting company, DentalKarma. Pam has two children, Patsy and Marshall, and she and Dr. Menaker keep busy with their 4 granddaughters.
Dr. Menaker received the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry in recognition of his commitment to continuing education in 1998. He has continued his desire for knowledge with extensive lecture and hands-on education seminars every year with the latest emphasis on the CEREC single visit crowns and dental implants. He is a Certified CEREC Trainer helping educate and mentor other dentists with this technology, and he was awarded Fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2014. In 2018, he began working toward his diplomate status in the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine to help patients with sleep apnea.
Dr. Menaker has been an active community service volunteer since moving to back to Charlotte after graduation offering his time to numerous non-profit agencies and also served as board chair of the Levine Jewish Community Center and Care Ring. He is committed to helping make our community a better place for all. Dr. Menaker is very active in local study clubs, mentoring dental students and young dentists. He is an avid sports fan involving almost anything with a ball and UNC, and a long time runner.

Dr. Rodney
Dr. Rodney, a native of Birmingham, Michigan, graduated from the University of Michigan for both her undergraduate and dental degrees and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 2006. She has practiced with the SmileCharlotte team since graduating. She has been extremely committed to continuing her dental knowledge with extensive classes in Invisalign Orthodontics and the new CEREC single visit crown system we implemented in 2006. She is responsible for overseeing our Preventive Dental Services and working with our hygienist and assistants to offer the most current treatment options possible to enhance our care and offer new recommendations. She is presently devoting a large amount of her time furthering her education with advanced classes at the prestigious Dawson Center in Florida. She received Fellowship status in 2014 from the International College of Oral Implantologists recognizing her commitment and studies in implant dentistry as well as considerable time with sleep dentistry.
She is an avid sports fan, especially when it comes to the Michigan Wolverines. She married her husband, Tommy Klosset, in 2015, the have a young son, Anthony, who was born October 2017. She comes from a tight-knit family being surrounded in the Charlotte area by her sisters, mother, and lots of nieces and nephews which keep her very happy and busy. Dr. Rodney has been very active in our community service efforts helping with “Give Kids A Smile” and also served on the board of Care Ring. She is actively involved in local study clubs and a member of numerous dental organizations.
